Blepharoplasty

Eyelid Surgery may involve the upper or lower eyelids, or both. The procedure in perfomed under deep sedation by an anaesthesiologist and local anaesthetic. Upper eyelid excess skin and fat is removed, as well as muscle strip if necessary. The resultant scar is a fine line which falls into the natural crease. Lower eyelid surgery can be performed as a direct surgical approach, with an incision just below the lower eyelashes (in the natural crease) to excise excess bags of fat and excess skin. Transconjunctival removal of fat bags and laser resurfacing (to tighten skin and remove fine wrinkles) is also performed.

As people age, the eyelid skin stretches, muscles weaken, and fat accumulates around the eyes, causing bags above and below.

Surgeon closes the incisions with fine sutures, which will leave nearly invisible scars.
